Sargeant Museum of Louisa County History

Louisa County Historical Society | Louisa, Virginia

The Sargeant Museum interprets the history of Louisa County through six topics: Native Peoples, The Revolutionary War, The Civil War and Battle of Trevillians Station, Transportation, Education, and Government.

The historic Sargeant-Pettit House posed a challenge because of limited wall space. This was addressed through the use of custom designed floor-standing fixtures, which provided space for the interpretive introductions to the sections, and complemented by the use of window scrims, which allowed the use of more visual images, and served to screen distracting exterior views.
