The American Swedish Historical Museum has a tradition of architect-designed galleries, with each space unique in its form and function. For their first gallery renovation in a generation, the museum selected Design 3 to provide comprehensive exhibit services for the entire project, including concept development, design development and, serving as general contractor, provided fabrication and installation management and supervision.
The New Sweden Gallery tells the story of the colony of New Sweden through collected artifacts and images. In addition to all the graphic elements, the project included the design of all furniture and fixtures in the gallery as well.
The opening of the gallery was presided over by Her Royal Highness Madeleine, Princess of Sweden.
